| Level 3/InterNap/Time Warner -
Some providers take liberties when describing their carriers
and whether their network offers border gateway protocol (BGP).
We use Gigabit Ethernet connections from Internap, Time Warner
and Level3 - we don't push traffic to low-end providers. And,
each network has its own entrance to the facility. Cisco

Internap FCP - intelligent routing
Our network provides the best of all worlds: BGP to support
multiple providers, enhanced by the Internap 5200 flow control
platform. Forget about the shortest or theoretical best route
- the Internap FCP appliance definitively identifies the fastest
route for your data. If it senses any latency or packet loss
in the chosen direction, it reroutes around it. And, it won't
send traffic on a long, circuitous cross-country route just
to avoid AS hops. With diverse entrances and FCP, the Colo4Dallas
network is designed to sends traffic down the smartest path
offering our customers the best possible speeds.
State–Of–The–Art Security
Beyond 24x7 on-site staff coverage, the datacenter is protected
by sophisticated security to protect your data. This includes
biometrics technology to secure entrances and access:
- Biometric scanners
- Multiple layers of 24x7 security cameras, card readers
and keypads
- Equipment area accessible only with cardkey and keypads
- All cabinets, cages and suites are locking, with security
upgrades available
- Facilities monitored with 24-hour recording and 5-day
video storage
Failsafe Power Supply
Our highly reliable automatic backup systems ensure constant,
uninterrupted power to your equipment:
- PowerWare and Leibert UPS systems operate independently
to provide true redundancy.
- Multiple diesel generators covering the entire facility
remain on standby.
- If commercial power fails, automatic transfer switches
(ATS) immediately activate generators, monitor electric
feeds and transfer stabilized loads to generators.
- The UPS systems keep equipment seamlessly powered, preventing
resets while generators kick in.
Backup Systems
Nexus automatically provides backup data services to all shared
hosting solutions clientele. Services are also optionally
available to all dedicated and co-location clientele. Nexus
utilizes backup hard drives on each individual server to store
backups. Linux systems store zipped copies of server system
files and client data files, for simple server rebuilding.
Windows™ NT/2000/2003 servers store full image backups (identical
copy of operating system and data at time of backup), for
full system restoration. Off-server and off-site backup services
are available as well.
24x7x365 Monitoring
The Data Center uses industry-standard SNMP (Simple Network
Management Protocol) and provides round-the-clock monitoring
of all hardware, including routers, switches, UPS systems,
and servers. The Data Center also monitors power, environmental
factors (such as temperature and humidity), generator status,
and network connectivity. All critical services/ports are
monitored, including FTP, HTTP, SMTP, HTTPS, SSH, TELNET,
and POP3. Failure on any monitoring service results in and
alerting our staff paging system.
